This module combines the requirements for Periodic Training with those of IVR training by incorporating elements of VR 03. Recovery operators taking this course will benefit from having completed part of the training required for Driver CPC and after suitable examination gain certification for the relevant VR module.

The Syllabus

The CRS1117 module will count towards 7 hours of the Periodic Training and will have both classroom based training as well as field based training.

Classroom based training

• Introduction and course planning
• Health & Safety as required for recovery operators in the field
• Roles and responsibilities of emergency services at the scene
• Roadside risk assessment
• Approaching the scene
• Preparing the scene for recovery
• Leaving the scene

• Practice Risk Assessment
• Deployment of protection aids at the scene: Cones, Flashing Beacons
• Summary and course evaluation
